POINT REYES

BAYVIEW TRAIL

August 9, 2007
Home

Trail Description: Bayview is one of many trails in the central part of the park. It tunnels through a mostly climax pine forest with some oaks woodlands at the beginning, and open grasslands towards the southern end. Most of the wildflowers are confined to trail side and there is little else to see except thick cut undergrowth. You will have to share this trail with horses and poison oak. This would be a good shaded trail on hot days. About 3.5 miles one way.

Trail Location:
From Bear Valley road, go down Limantour Road about 3.5 miles and turn right into the trailhead parking lot. This serves both Sky and Bayview trails. The trail head is on the south end of the parking lot. Unless you have a shuttle,  Laguna Trail back be a good alternate route back.
