LAKE HENNESSEY

Park Description: This 840 acre reservoir was created in 1948 to help
control floods and provide drinking water for the city of Napa. Most of the
surrounding area is oak woodland with some open grassland. There are
perimeter trails with good bird watching opportunities.
Directions: The
reservoir is about 10 miles north of Napa. From 29, take 128 east and go
about 6 miles. Or from the Silverado Trail, take the beautiful Howell Mt.
