Trail Description:
We started our hike from where Las Posadas Road makes a 90 degree turn and headed east for a quarter mile before turning south. Initially we went through pine forests, then through Oaks and Madrones as we neared Recreation Flat. The Gold Fields, Cream Sacks and Ithuriel Spears covered flat show no sign of dryness even this late in the year. After lunch we headed up from the 4H camp through maples, redwoods and other moisture loving foliage. Finally we bushwhacked it back close to the fence, but I personally would have preferred a regular trail more... even though a little out of the way.
