Park Description: Deer Island Open Space Preserve is a small 135 acre park with about two miles of trails covering a 140' high hill just East of Novato. It's handy for a lot of people, fairly easy to get to, has a good variety of birds including waterfowl, and has good views though slightly marred by development. 

Directions: From Hwy 37 take Atherton Ave to Olive Ave to Deer Island Lane. There's a small dirt parking lot at the end of the lane. From Hwy 80 take Atherton Ave East & follow above directions. Also see location map below.
