ABBOTS LAGOON

Trail Description: Abbots Lagoon is located on the north west shores of Pt. Reyes. It is a beautiful 1.3 mile fairly level trail out to the ocean through dune and marsh habitat. Not only is the area rich in wildflowers, but a variety of marsh and shore birds are present as well.  On this hike, it was significantly dryer than on our May hike. None the less we were able to ferret out a number of new plants. It must be that we're all getting better...or more desperate.

Trail Location:
From Hwy 1, go west on Sir Francis Drake Blvd. (SFDB) about 8 miles to Pierce Point Road. The road sort of splits here with Pierce Point being the right leg.  About 3 miles on the left is the parking lot for Abbots Lagoon.
