Himalayan Blackberry (Rubus discolor): A very problematic aggressive non native bush with such a lovely flower.
On the open southern trail.
Yellow Mariposa Lily (Calochortus luteus): We saw a few dozen spread out in the sunny areas throughout the park.
Sticky Monkey flower among others line the trails.
Farewell To Spring (Clarkia amoena):These 1" across flowers were commonly seen along the trail.
Teasel (Dipsacus sativus): This non native is beginning to bloom.
California Honeysuckle (Lonicera hispidula): The flower buds are just beginning to fully bloom.
Buckeye Tree Flower (Aesculus californica): Total flower head is about 6" tall and 2 ½" wide.
Rough Cat’s ears (Hydrochaeris radicata):Seed head on this non native Dandelion looking flower.
An Obstacle course of Poison Oak makes for dainty walking.
White Hyacinth (Triteleia hyacinthina): The individual flowers on this cluster are about 1/3" across.
Bedstraw (Gallium aparine): Non native ground cover with 1/16" across flowers.
Milkwort (Polygala californica): Low growing ground cover type native.
Hairy Gumplant (Grindelia hirsutula): Each flower averaged 1 ½" to 2" across.
English Daisy (Bellis perennis): Slightly more petaled than usual so probably escaped from a yard as groundcover.
These stately Redwoods greet you at the trails end (or beginning depending on direction of travel).
Water Hemlock (Oenanthe sarmentosa): A large group of these 3' high natives were living in a moist area near the trail head.
