Trail Description:
It was a special occasion that brought us to Samuel P. Taylor this day. Among our group was a lady we were all fond of who was celebrating her 86th birthday, and the hike was kept short so we could all enjoy a celebratory luncheon. S.P. Taylor has a variety of trails that range from Redwood to grasslands. Pioneer Tree trail is one of those dense redwood trail that would feel at home to Washingtonian rain forest dwellers. Unfortunately, we only got a mile in before having to turn around, so here is a short report.
