Trail Description:
Mitchell Canyon is on the north side of Mt. Diablo, and starts off as open
oak woodlands. As one ascends up through the canyon, it slowly becomes more
dense, incorporating Madrones, bays and other dry woodland trees. Juniper
Trail in contrast, is another 2,000 feet higher and features more alpine vegetation.
