Park Description: This mile wide island of about 740 acres is covered mostly by grasslands and Oaks, Bays, Manzanita, Toyon and Coyote Brush. Some of the introduced trees include Eucalyptus, Monterey Pine, Douglas Fir, Monterey Cypress, Black Locust, and Portuguese Cork Oaks

There are Thirteen miles of hiking trails and roadways with incredible views of the bay. plus a number of restored historic sites to visit. The island is accessible to the public year around, but only by ferry (or your own private boat). Ferries come early and leave late, so most people can enjoy the 5 mile walking circumnavigation.
