SALT POINT STATE PARK
Home
Park Description: Salt point is 6000 acre park located about 90
miles north of San Francisco with a rugged coastline that's rivaled by few
parks in California for sheer beauty and geologic interest. The inland areas
feature grasslands which give way to mixed forest from Madrones to Redwoods,
including the Kruse Rhododendron Garden and Pigmy Forest. A stay in
one of their 109 campsites and hiking some of the 20 miles of trails would
be a perfect way to spend a couple of days.
Directions: Once on Highway 1 from any
number of bay area towns, go north
to Fort Ross. Salt Point is 15 miles further up. Watch for the
highway signs.
Reservations advised during summer weekends.
