POINT REYES NS
Home
Park Description: Among it's 70,000 acres are 900 species of
plants with over 50 listed as rare, threatened, or endangered. It's habitats
include seashores, dunes, grasslands, riparian wetlands, chaparrals, lakes,
and Douglas fir and pine forests. In summary, Point Reyes is one of the
worlds most diverse biological and floral habitats, not to mention the
scenery. For this reason many hikes are planned here. After years of
living in the Bay Area, we are still awed with each visit.
Directions: The park is located about
roughly 20 air miles north west of San Francisco. The major roads there are
Hwy 1, Sir Francis Drake and Petaluma/Pt Reyes Rd.
